چکیده
Background: Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) treatment constitutes a macrolide-based antibiotic regimen in combination with aminoglycosides for Rapid-Growing (RGM), and rifampicin Slow-Growing (SGM). Mutations the anti-NTM drug target regions promote NTM evolution to mutant strains that are insusceptible drugs leading failure. We, therefore, described mutation patterns of genes including rrl, rrs, rpoB isolates from Kenya. Methods: We carried out cross-sectional study included 122 obtained sputum symptomatic tuberculosis-negative patients All underwent targeted sequencing rrl gene. The 54 RGM were also sequenced 68 SGM using ABI 3730XL analyzer. sequences aligned their wild-type reference each gene Geneious then mutations identified. Pearson chi-square at 95% confidence interval tested association gene. Results: Twenty-eight (23%) resistant least one antibiotics used treatment. Twelve (10.4%) macrolide resistant, 7(58.3%) 5(41.7%) having For ten (83.3%) NTM, found position 2058, while two (16.6%) 2059. Six (11.1%) exhibited aminoglycoside rrs location 1408. Ten (14.7%) rifampicin, 40 percent codon 531 Conclusion: demonstrated significant level resistance macrolides, isolated TB negative Kenya.

Identification of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria Species Isolated from Water Samples Using Phenotypic and Molecular Methods and Determination of their Antibiotic Resistance Patterns by E- Test Method, in Isfahan, Iran
Introduction Many studies have shown epidemiological links between strains isolated in tap water, and those isolated from patients. Molecular methods linked to PCR are more reliable and faster for identification of non- tuberculous mycobacteria(NTM). In this study molecular methods were used for identification and typing of NTM. Materials and Methods Five hundred ml of 85 water ...
متن کاملIdentification of Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria by Line Probe Assay and Determination of Drug Resistance Patterns of Isolates in Iranian Patients
The potentially pathogenic Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacteria (NTM) are emerging nowadays which result in pulmonary and non-pulmonary infections in human. This group of bacteria consists of at least 200 different species. While the pulmonary disease is the most common form of NTM infections, NTM can cause diffused infections as well as extrapulmonary infections in every organ, such as bone marrow, s...
متن کاملAntibiotic Resistance Patterns and Prevalence of PER and VEB Resistance Genes among Clinical Isolates of ESBL-Producing Acinetobacter Baumannii
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Acinetobacter species are responsible for a wide range of clinical complications in hospitalized patients. Antimicrobial treatment of clinical strains of Acinetobacter baumannii may be compromised due to multiple-drug resistance to b-lactams. Aim of this study was to determine antibiotic resistance patterns an...
متن کاملOptimized Method for Isolation of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria from Hospital Aquatic Sources
Background: Aquatic ecosystems are an important source of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) that can cause different diseases in human. Since culture of mycobacteria needs long-term incubation, fast-growing microorganisms and contaminants in the environment usually prevents the isolation of mycobacteria. Here, we compare different treatment protocols and describe a method that increases the rec...
